    What is the Pomodoro Technique?

The Pomodoro Technique breaks work into focused intervals โ€” traditionally 25 minutes โ€” separated by short breaks, with a longer break after every few sessions. The timed structure makes big tasks feel manageable and helps you resist distraction. Customize the lengths to fit how you work best.

    How to use this timer

Click Start to begin a focus session. When it ends, you'll hear a sound (if enabled) and the timer automatically switches to a short break โ€” a long break kicks in after every few sessions, based on your "Long break every" setting. Add tasks in the list above to keep track of what you're working on each session, and check them off as you go.

    Frequently asked questions

Will I lose my tasks and settings if I close the tab?
No. Your tasks, session count, and settings are saved in your browser's local storage, so they're still there the next time you open this page on the same device and browser. Nothing is sent to a server.

Does my session count reset every day?
Yes. The "Completed focus sessions today" counter resets automatically each time you visit on a new day.

    Why aren't desktop notifications working?
Your browser needs permission first โ€” turning on the "Desktop notifications" toggle will prompt you to allow notifications. If you previously denied that permission, you'll need to re-enable it in your browser's site settings.

Can I change the classic 25-minute length?
Yes. The Focus, Short Break, and Long Break lengths are all fully adjustable in Settings โ€” the 25/5/15 pattern is just the traditional starting point.
